You have iTunes, and you even have an iPod to boot. So how do you listen to the Beacon podcast using iTunes? How do you get the podcast on your iPod?

You’re in luck—this is the absolute easiest way to listen to Beacon podcasts.

Directly from Beaconnet.org

On the right hand side of the page, you should see a Search box followed by several links pertaining to subscribing to the podcast. You should see an iTunes icon (see the picture, highlighted in green).

iTunes Podcast Button

Click the icon, and iTunes will start on your computer, adding the Beacon podcast to the list of your podcasts. Depending on the settings for your iPod, the podcast will be on your iPod the next time you sync it.

Through the iTunes Store

Another way to listen to the podcast is to search for “Beacon Community Church” in the iTunes store.

  1. Open up the iTunes application. Once it has started, choose the “iTunes Store” shopping bag icon under the “STORE” section (should be right under your “LIBRARY” section).
  2. Once in the iTunes Store, type “Beacon Community Church” in the Search iTunes Store field in the upper right hand corner of the iTunes application.
  3. Several results will show up, but you are only interested in the Beacon Community Church result (should have a matching logo and list John Mury’s name).Beacon Podcast in iTunes Store
  4. Click on either the Beacon logo if you want to see more information, or go ahead and click the “subscribe” button. Once you click subscribe, you should have the podcast in your LIBRARY -> Podcast section. Depending on the settings for your iPod, it will then show up on your iPod on the next sync.

I’d like to now [DO SOMETHING ELSE] with the podcast files

If you would like to burn the podcasts to a CD, see the Listening to Podcast on a CD help page.

If you would like to copy the files and put them on a USB stick or hard drive, do the following:

  1. Select the podcasts you want in iTunes with your mouse.
  2. Using your mouse, now drag the podcasts to your desktop (by left-clicking and dragging the filenames out of the iTunes window).

You now have a copy of the files on your desktop—you can do anything you want with them now!
